The online petition has now closed.  Along with the paper petition, a total number of:

 129,732

signatures have been presented to West Sussex Primary Care Trust chief executive John Wilderspin.

A certificate was also handed in at Downing Street and at the Department of Health in October telling the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Health that (at that time) over 100,000 had signed up in opposition.

KWASH has said in its official response to the consultation that it is absolutely essential that notice is taken of this huge number of people who have signed up to oppose the downgrading of Worthing and Southlands Hospitals.
